Has anyone got or used one of these. Daughter gets a headache with ordinary scull caps and really sweaty too. These seem so lightweight and have air vents. I assume they ok because they have all the kite marks etc but they just seem too lightweight. I can't imagine them withstanding too much although I suppose they must do....???? Worth getting or not???

My scull cap give me a headache if I wear it for more than an hour, coz Ive got a funny shaped head!

Ive got a Champion Vent Air and its fab, light weight, got the vents and its really soft inside and doesnt give me a head ache.

I think they come out somewhere near the top in terms of safety actually...better even than the Champion Ventairs. There was a link posted on here recently to some independent tests which verified this.

am thinking of getting one for the same reason - get nasty headache in both my hats. Used to use the Champion versions of these in the RS I worked at, they were good and pretty comfy. Going looking at them at the weekend....

Ooo..thats interesting. Thanks for that. Will have a good look at them then.
Yes, agree about getting them properly fitted especially as she's had problem with her current one..

It should also be noted that the Champion Universal is basically the same helmet and might be easier to source.

i and a lot of my freinds use them for long distance - really like them - although they take a bit of getting used to - and they can be a bit fiddley to fit - but when i came of at a canter a few months ago my head bounced along the ground and i didnt even get a headache so i was impressed x

I bought one of these recently and am v impressed (though haven't fallen off in it so haven't tested the impact protection bit). However v light comfy helmet and no more sweaty head which was main reason for buying so v pleased indeed.

I have a Troxel and it makes my head look HUGE so I went out an bought another lower profile helmet. It felt to high to balance ( could just be me) and felt unsafe as it didn't seem to be much difference between that and a bicycle helmet.

I would check with Pony Club/Riding School etc depending on what your daughter does as some of the new style hats are kitemarked but don't reach the european standard and therefore can't be used in PC etc
