Sorry probably a really stupid question That some horses have the wrong shaped head/jaw to allow them to work on the bit??
In theory I guess it sounds 'true' but is it?

I know that some horses can be really thick through the gullet, often in thick, solid set ponies!!?? I imagine that this doesn't make getting 'them round' easy. Same could be said for those horses with short thick necks I guess.

But, like you it sounds possible, but don't know 100% if it actually is.

Working correctly is to do with engaging the hindquarters & working through the back, mouth shape of no relevance really. Might affect choice of bits, & general confirmation obviously affects the way of going. So a myth I'd say. Any healthy horse is physically capable of working correctly given the chance.

A horse thick or course through the gullet will find it difficult or near impossible to flex and if forced will often make a noise in addition to feeling like a tank to ride.

It's a conformation fault that could be bred out if people bothered to look at their horses conformation before breeding.
