Does anybody know if Equi-trek do a "try your horse in one before you buy" thing?
My mare will not travel in my Ifor Williams 505 unless the partition is removed but we now wish to travel two horses so have to look at either a lorry or something else. Can't really warrant the running costs of a lorry again so trailer would be better for us.
Somebody has suggested an Equi trek as problem travellers seem to travel well in them but dont want to go to the expense of one if she won't travel in it.

The people who make equiteck are very much horse people and are very approachable, if I were you I would contact them and see if they can help at all.

Can you travel 2 horses without the partition in your Ifor? Whats the problem with the horse? One of my past horses fell over in the trailer if the partition wasnt moved over or removed completely (with a full length breast bar) - he travelled fine with another side by side.

When we bought her the owners were very insistant on them delivering her and said she travelled better without the partition although she as fine with it in? The first time we took her out she shredded her travel boots, had pawed the floor that bad on the rubber mat I thought we had a blow out it smelled of rubber that bad, she cut her legs and was trying to push herself against the partition. We arrived with her lathered up, dripping and shaking. She loaded back in fine but we took the back part out and she wasnt too bad.
After that we bought full length breastbars, took out the partition and she travels fine. Gets a bit stressy when stationery in traffic but not too bad and as soon as we get to a show she eats her hay stood in there and is quite happy.
We now want to travel another with her so we tried without the back part again and she was not happy loading and only went about a few hundred yards down the road and she is clattering about. We stop to have a look and she is again in a state, she has skinned her knee on the outside and cut her fetlock (she has travel boots on!) again, shaking and pushing against the sides of the trailer, she sort of buckles down at the knees and pushes? She can get her feet spread ok so I really dont know what the problem is.
I dont know if I would dare travel her next to the other horse in case she had a divvy and frightened or kicked him (he travels beautifully) I dont know if it is the enclosed bit she doesnt like, it is a bit of a mystery. When she travels without the partition she doesnt even stand herringbone so it cant be that she hasnt got the room?
We have seen the Fautras ones on the internet and they do a 3 horse herringbone one so thought I could maybe give her 2 spaces but again I dont want to buy one and find she is the same and we havent got a dealer near us?
Can't moan about the mare though really as she is such a poppet with everything else and genuinly looks petrified.
Oh, and we do drive her carefully and she has not had a bad journey yet!
Any ideas?
