So just because you probably won’t get stopped and you have a good excuse made up in your head it makes breaking the rules ok?
What Ant said.
Im not prepared to be a hermit forever. Life is too short.
And, viewing said horse was outside, socially distancing and as it happens, no one caught Covid as a result of it.
And, an aside, I have 2 friends who work on Covid wards, in different hospitals, so I do have an insight into how terrible the disease can be.

Whilst I can understand the sentiments of some of the posters I am uncomfortable with the trend to cherry pick the rules you want to stick to and those that are deemed to not apply to you.

Under the interpretation of the rules I can't see how going to try a pony is allowable as it really doesn't come under the heading of essential shopping. I do however sympathise with those who are in this position.

I agree this is going to go in and on. And I agree people have to live their lives. However I do get upset when people pick and choose what rules apply to them and then bend the rules to what they want to do. Non essential travel is not allowed. It would be shorter if people followed the rules and yes I agree that 2 people meeting outside to see a horse is very low risk. Perhaps I am more sensitive about it all after my experience at the beginning of lock down, with the situation looking to get dire again.

I know it is so frustrating. I went with a friend to view a horse last weekend before lockdown announced. It's only 12 miles away but transport couldn't be arranged until later in week by which time the lockdown had started. So she hasn't been able to get the horse.
Horses were selling like hot cakes during last lockdown!

Don't know if to complete a sale of horse arranged before lockdown now is doable or not.

I also don't really like the idea that people decide that rules do not apply to them because they are inconvenient and they do not see the risk. We have to remember that what we see as almost no risk, for example one unnecessary journey, translates into something very different if everyone does it. In my opinion now we should all be trying to limit our time outside the home and our contact with others to the minimum, not looking for ways around the rules or explanations of why we should be an exception.
