Haven't yet 'advertised' as I'm not sure how to word it other than I want to borrow someones kid for my pony :p I'm 20 now and would look rather stupid turning up on my 14hh nf pony so I am wanting a kid to take him and enjoy him. I have my own transport etc so can take them, it'll just to nice to see him out doing what ponies should be doing! Would people think it's rather weird I want to borrow their child to ride my pony? Not asking for costs or anything. I'm in Warwickshire incase anyone reads this and is interested ;)

Its quote normal to have a jockey for shows but less so for PC

I'd probably approach your local PC or riding club, there is bound to be a family where two children share a pony and a second ride would be greatly appreciated

Horse Gossip forum has a section for riders wanted so may be worth a try too

Its actually very common to have jockies for good PC ponies. A good pony is worth its weight (sometimes lierally!) in gold and DCs will do a lot to keep a good pony in thier branch.

Start with your own branch and see if the DC knows of anyone. Then ask them to pass it on to the Area Rep.

If you don't have a good relationship with your DC then try phoning other local branches - although this will depend on where in the UK you are. Some areas really only have one branch to access, others have quite a range.

You can advertise on the PC website - although that costs. Alternatively try printing out flyers and papering the local PC events. If you look on the PC online calendar for your area you can see where the open events are being held - then put a flyer up at the show centre.

If you are able to cite any recent PC competition history and advertise a DC reference for the pony that helps too!

The other avenue would be a GOOD riding school, ask the owner or manager, they may have some decent little jockeys who would love the opportunity. There are lots of super riders out there who don't have horsey parents and are stuck with lessons but would love to get out and do PC.
