I'm having major difficulties in trying to get cat insurance for King Kevin Kat.
I need it to be in a paper format as my elderly mobile (Samsung A2) is unreliable and disappears stuff.
(I've had expensive negative experiences with iPhones in the past) is variably unreliable and I can't afford to replace it.
Old Horse and Kevin are, of course, Living Their Best Lives. They swallow the majority of my professional pension, and my aged-person's pension goes on petrol, farrier, equine dentist, feed and inoculations, getting to the local P@H for Kevin's required premium diet etc.
I've tried NFU. No - only if I have my house insured with them. Don't live in a house, live on a barge. They insured Old Horse until he got too old for them to accept him. Never asked about type of dwelling.
Cat's Protection Society aren't answering their phone, earlier in the day. Blue Cross ditto.
Kevin was an abandoned, brutalised stray from a slum estate. He arrived on October 3rd 2021, with one days' notice, three months after the loss of Madam Cat (22) to kidney failure.
Any ideas, people? Maximum monthly premium c.£20.
Many thanks.

I used to be a Fosterer for Cats Protection and they give you 30 days "free" insurance with Petplan if you adopt a cat from them as they have a mutually beneficial arrangement, so if you do manage to get through to them this is who they will recommend. Personally I don't think their insurance gives any wow factor and you really need to look at the exclusions and excesses (like you would with ANY insurance basically).

I use pet plan's covered for life or whatever it's called for both ours.

They were very good paying out for the AC when he died of suspected FIP, I've got purchase price cover on mine too as the current 2 are pedigree, I also included it when taking out the ACs cover as it was such a negligible difference with or without it.

My mum also uses them and they were great with her late girl, covering her kidney disease, diabetes and thyroid conditions

My maximum monthly premium is in the £20s, possibly a little more than you're after, but we have the mid tier vet cover, I think there's a lower level, and also a higher but the price was a stretch, and if they need 12k vet costs which I think is what it was, is it fair to them as presumably the condition or injury is very severe

They automatically email the papers but you can request they post them, I did for my initial cover as I like to have paper copies of documents as they are easier to find
