I shan't mention them by name, but I am sure you all know who they are.....

Ordered an imitation Pessoa from them last week, got told 3 weeks delivery. Then a kind person PMd me and said not to go for the imitation one from them, it is rubbish, so went back and cancelled that order and asked for the real McCoy instead...to be told it wasn't in stock and I'd have to wait 2 weeks!

So I've gone to another online store, got the Pessoa £10 cheaper than from the original site, and it will be delivered in 2-5 working days.

How do the first mentioned (the initials DH come to mind...) manage to stay in business when it seems they don't have ANYTHING in stock! Rant over now....calm...breathing deeply....

Had problems with them to. Unless you phone to order. Then if in stock they will deliver no problems but if not in stock its a waste of time - cancel your order!! God knows how thay stay in business!

Thats how I remember it - when I first got into horses about 15 years ago they were great, really reliable etc. What happened?

Will def remember that for future reference - to be honest I never order anything online, not because I don't trust the systems etc but have heard about others being kept waiting for months when items are not in stock! Wasn't quite switched on to the fact that applied to phone orders too..

We had trouble with the same company last year when it took over 4 months for my christmas present to arrive - a posh new Hi-Viz riding coat. When it did turn up it was faulty anyway so we ended up sending it back and I took the money with me to Badmintion - after all it was the end of March when the faulty coat arrived (which was ordered the previous November!!!).

LOL! I did ride as a small child but gave up when I was about 7 after a nasty fall - didn't start again until I was 21 - but can't say I was exactly switched on to buying lots of pony stuff the first time around, how things change (examines credit card bill guiltily....

I've been waiting for my thermatex for almost 2 months now and they phoned me up about 3 times (in the 4 weeks after I'd originally ordered the damn thing) saying there was no size listed and what size did I want!

What a fab company

I have to say I'm not going to bother using them again, unless they tell me they have the item in stock straight away - its a real shame! I only wish I could get into E-Bay, but I'm useless and don't understand it

I haven't heard a single good word about them since they took over saddleries up and down the UK. I would only buy from the retail outlet, and even then, the quality of goods seems to have declined. Loads of odd makes and weird colours

Steer well clear................

I guess their parent company has changed, so they have become ambitious and have taken over other companies

Cotswold Saddlery used to be really good before they took it over, waste of time going there now to be honest

Just for your info anyone from DH who might read this - YOUR NEW APPROACH HASN'T WORKED!!!!

I ordered quite a few things from them recently. The only two items that arrived as expected had to be sent back. Not their fault admittedly but I must have missed the bit that said I have to pay P&P to send back as well as receive !!! I finally got a call and was told another item would be 4 - 6 weeks so I cancelled that. One item arrived late but at least it arrived and fit. Other items coming in a few weeks. All round it was very disappointing and I won't be doing it again.

I placed an order with them on internet, a week a later a gave them a phone call as i hadn't received the items and i'm glad i did cos they told me that the order on the internet hadn't gone through correctly! Grrrr! There was nothing on their site to tell me that my order hadn't been placed properly. Was very annoyed. They were pretty quick delivering though once i had placed the order on the phone.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I ordered some magnetic wraps about a month ago and they haven't arrived yet.
I phoned them and they said the beginning of november.......still not here even now

I really want them otherwise I'd cancel my order, and I've waited this long!

the amount of timesI've ordered loads of stuff on there only to get an email with 'not in stock' is no ones business - I don't use them anymore and just called straight up and cancelled!

I have to say that I would try cancelling the order and seeing if you can get them from somewhere else - I just googled for Pessoa and loads came up, but that is quite a popular item I know

Wow, thats quality! Has anyone actually gone back to them and said how rubbish they are, I wonder? I'm seriously thinking of giving them some customer feedback

Count yourself lucky not to get the order. A few years ago I ordered a turnout rug for M....they tried to send me three by mistake...refused to take them back initially...as they said I should have cancelled the two orders (that I didn't actually make
confused.gif
) They only took two rugs back when I helpfully calculated how many students I could tell about this as an example of poor customer relations..

It's so annoying when companies offer for sale items that they haven't got, & don't know when ne stock will arrive. They have you pay immediately & then wait months, with you being out of pocket. to delivery anything. Many times they try & fob you off with 'a similar' item as they can't get the original.

I believe Derby House have expanded far too quickly buying up other companies & now they haven't got the infastructre to accomodate the increased orders. As a result they are going to lose customers to other companies & put their business at risk

Did anyone look at their stand at YHL? It was like a jumble sale with stuff just thrown on the floor - the branding was.... wait for it...... a carrier bag stuck to the wall with sellotape!!

Classy

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't see them, but then I wasn't looking for a carrier bag taped to a wall

Its such a shame, they used to be so good - my favourite online store infact

Yes, they really have gone down hill since they have expanded. They used to be really reliable and quick to deliver. Only bonus now is that sometimes when they do get the orders wrong, you can end up with more than one delivery of the same items that you have ordered as they don't seem to relised that they sent the first one!
