Trying to shop in Tescos, it's horrible!

I just wish I could get out and actually get to a shop!

I am starting to suffer severe cabin fever!

I started a new job this year and have only done one day and looking at the forecast I doubt I will get in early next week either - so no pay for me and just have to hope that new boss doesn't start regretting she took me on in the first place.

Thats my local shop to. It can get far worse than that. I went there a few days ago the shelves were stripped.

I preferred it when I kept my horse in Warlingham, Sainsburys was far more civilised and you didn't get strange looks as every other person wears jodphrs and has a basket full of carrots apples mints and wine

Yes,Zoobie, I've got a friend who has her horses down near the Bull pub in Warlingham, she uses sainsburys too!
Been running her up to her stables when she couldn't get her car out.
Snowing out there again now, think like someone else has said,I'm going shopping at 11 pm from now when the shop is open that is!

Gave up on my idea of going to Sainsbury's this morning having looked at the queue of cars trying to get into the car park.

Have been walking to the local Tesco Express (about 1 mile) to buy a newspaper to offset the cabin fever that was setting in and was stunned by the panic buying.

Hmm, well I just stopped at Tesco's express on the way home from the yard, and it was business/stock as usual in there.

All our local small shops are having to ration milk and bread to customers as people are being so greedy. De-icer is non existent either in small garages or large stores. I love the fact that I have my milk delivered, support your local milkman (yes I know it's more pricey) but does anyone know why he might be delivering but not taking away the empties?

I was in my local Morrisons at 8am this morning. It was business as usual. Plenty of bread, milk and tatties! And we'd had more snow overnight but it didn't seem to affect anything. Maybe we have a different attitude in Scotland?

Now I went to my local Asda on Wednesday and there wasn't a soul to be had!
It was like shopping at 3am on a Weekday night! Fantastic!
And the funniest thing was, people were staying away because of the snow, yet Asda had a ruddy great digger scraping and moving the snow off the road and parking bays!

Same. I ran out last night and nowhere had any - I had to drive up the motorway last night in tears because I could barely see out. Spare water bottle in the car and jets topped up, but everything kept freezing on contact

worst journey I've had for a long time.

I would say come to Leighton Buzzard as Tescos, Aldi and Waitrose are all calm and civilised with perfectly adequate parking- but please don't !!

Personally i wouldnt be seen dead in Sainsburys, i hate it, just walking through the doors is enough to give me a minor panic attack. Tesco is bad enough. I like Waitrose.

People are going a bit mad we sold double our normal bread sales today -I work for waitrose and we haven't got a supply problem with our distribution but with people buying so much extra we physically cannot get any more lorries in and out of our centres . The only issue we have had is that the tankers can't get to our normal farmers who supply our milk so we have had to swap to country life branded milk. Also can people try and be nice to your local shopworkers we are trying as hard as we can to keep things in stock but the amount of abuse I have had today is insane from the queues at the checkout(Ican't just magic another till out of the sky) to why haven't our delivery vans been out today (errrmmmm probably the same reason you haven't driven to the shop to buy the stuff) grumble over

How wierd. Everything is totally normal, but kind of in slow motion, in Edinburgh and its environs. I did get stuck in my car outside Harvey Nicks yesterday but 4 kind men pushed me out.

I got warned as I left home today to NOT go there. The traffic in was queued up for a mile donw the road. It's madness and selfish and greedy of people to be buying so much. It's also stupid the amounts some people are buying.
My husband works in a Co-op, and they have been selling more than 5X their usual amount of must stuff.
