I have been trying to trace a pony I had on loan since I left my previous yard 3 and a half years ago, however I've not had much success.
I was thinking I could give my farriers a photo of him to see if they recognise him at all, do you think that's a silly idea?
I know he was sold from a dealers yard in Amersham in early 2005, to someone and doing a lot of showjumping (though I heard that third hand,) but I don't really know what happened to him after that. Do you think it's a lost cause now that it's been so long?

Also, which photos would you chose to show my farriers?

Or any of the other ones in this folder (please excuse any photos of awful riding):

4th one. Do you knw what area it was sold to? If so put an advert in their local tack shop as someone may recognise it. I put a picture in Your Horse in tracing horses and had 2 replies (one was the girl I bought him from).

That facial marking is quite unusual so the fourth one is probably best because it shows it most clearly. Agree that ads in tack shops might be a good idea, and perhaps mail the ad to the DCs of Pony Clubs in the area.

Try and include as many facts as possible - particularly any other distinquishing marks he may have.
