For a couple of days my horse has been feeling under the weather - not eating or drinking, bit of a temperature - there's a possible virus going around here as another horse on the yard also the same.

Anyway vet came out and gave antibiotics, and although he is still not eating his haylage he has happily had his tea and even drank a little tonight. But I have noticed he is very tucked up behind. Is this the result of not drinking or something else?

The vet did comment on him being tucked up but said nothing further and it does look a lot worse now than it did this morning.

Not when I went to clean him this morning there was hardly anything. Normally he is a very dirty horse with big droppings everywhere, today though small droppings and very few.

ask for a blood test to check worm counts, particularly tapeworm as it often causes tucking up even if you're following a strict routine (happened to me!)
