Has anyone got one and are they any good? I need a warm, padded, waterproof and generally indestructible dog bed for the back of my car. My dogs think its a great game to scratch a hole in their beds and pull the stuffing out

so I need a bed thats quite tough - so are they worth the money or will the stuffing be festooned around the back of the car like all the others?
Thanks.

We had one, but sold it on ebay..... I'm sure for a lot of dogs they're great, but our dog hated it; she has high standards & didn't think it was soft enough, so instead she just slept on the floor - not really what we was trying to achieve so it went on ebay!

I have one for my Doberman - it is very tough, and so easy to keep clean, hair just doesnt stick to it, and you can wipe them down.
BUT, my naughty, naughty dog has scratched right through the indestructable cover, and pulled all the stuffing out.
I am not impressed - with my dog - the bed is probably brilliant for most dogs!

Jemayni - I know what you mean about the dog's standards - given half the chance mine would prefer to be on the couch or on the bed - I keep telling them they are supposed to be tough gundogs not lapdogs but they don't seem to listen.
Sprout - your dobie sounds like my pointer who has a knack for getting the stuffing out of beds so it sounds like its quite possible she could do the same to the tuffie then. I like the sound of how easy it is to clean though as the vizsla loves to jump in any manky bit of water we come across and the pointer rolls in poo! A lovely pair they are!

I have them for my dogs, my dog couldn't scratch his way through, but did manage to chew a hole in the corner. It has survived longer than a normal bed though.

If you dog doesn't like the feel of the wipe down material they do a cover for them that is made out of the same material as areolpane upholstery that is machine washable - makes it much more cosy.

I did wonder about sticking a vet bed over the top that I could shove in the washer every so often but maybe one of these covers would be better.

I've got them for my GSDs. They weren't too keen at first as the cover is a bit shiny but being a cruel Mum I persisted and now they seem very happy on them. They are great for keeping clean, hair doesn't stick and I just hose them off when they get a bit muddy and they dry very quickly. I would recommend you get quite a big size if you do go for one as they are bean bag like and take a while tomould to dogs shape, if the bed is too small the dog would fall off!

Well I've ordered one - I've ordered it big enough to fit the cage in the back of the car - there'll be the two of them in there so I hope they'll be comfy and not one lying in the middle and one sliding off!

I have the kennelmate version also half the price! ( just google kennelmate) Have them for the gundogs & stand up just fine to them also you can stick the cover in the washing machine (but the are water resistant not waterproof) which are fine with a wet dog on them but not a leaking kennel!! I have the kennelmate in the back of Disco but also have a vetbeds stuck on top just to help clean/dry the dogs quicker. Dogs seem very snuggly on them!!
Very tough beds (only has small hole in corner where she tried to pull it off kennel bed & then drag it out kennel dog which was smaller than the bed with her puppy teeth!!
You can just see it here under a blanket in back of Disco (the seat tear was there when we bought old Disco!!) pardon the apple in her mouth!

Here is another shot of when I dumped it in old dog bed after washing to go back in truck & she was trying to claim it! You can see the hole she made a year ago which is still the same I haven't bothered to patch it & she has left it alone

The size I have (large I think) cover's nearly all the back of the Disco so a descent size.
