Does anyone know much about it/have any experience of it?

He's got anti inflammatory drops and the vet said to leave him in a dark stable for a few days... so he's all boarded up.

I've just read a couple of things about it and it didn't seem to say anything about keeping out of sun light??

Can he have some healing vibes please.

I may be wrong but I *think* it's a form of Uveitis- my friends horse had it, unfortunately he had to be PTS because by the time it was caught it had progressed to complete blindness in one eye and he was nearly blind in the other.
 
If you google Uveitis you'll probably find a bit more information, my mare was diagnosed with it about 3 years ago now. I believe you have to keep them out of sunlight as the drugs they use within the eye dilate the pupil, and therefore the horse needs to be kept out of the light. Has your horse been prescribed Atropine??

I'm not sure what he has been prescribed, he's my dads horse and I haven't been over this week. I think they caught it pretty early so hopefully he will be ok. Mum said it was looking a lot better today.

An livery we had used to have it before he came to us and although he was supposed to be blind in one eye it never caused him any problems... I hope the same applies to Tully.

My pony has this. He will need to be kept out of the sunlight when he has an attack but not forever!! The guardian face masks are expensive and the Equilibrium Field Maxi does a very similar job. You can find them reasonably cheaply on ebay. Unfortunately each attack makes the sight worse - I think the scarring causes cataracts. It is likely the horse will get more attacks, although no-one can say when, as there seems to be no definite cause. Between attacks the horse should be fine. OUrs supposedly has limited sight in one eye and clusters of cataracts on the other - but you would never know it. We simply made the decision not to hack her alone and not to jump with her - although she can certainly see me coming from a long way off with the headcollar LOL. Best of luck with yours.
 
Allegedly my mare has this, though her symptoms don't fit. She is on Pred forte drops twice daily for the forseeable future. This helps to reduce the cloudyness in the affected eye. It doesn't restrict her in any way, although when cloudy she shows that she cant see well on that side.

Our old welshie had it. They can lose eyes apparently but he was fine. He had 2 attacks and recovered fully from both of them. Good luck and healing vibes. (When I say had he is no longer with us but it was cancer he died from not MB....and he was 36)
 
my last TB had uveitis and I used a fly mask all day every day from March to Nov when turned out which was 24/7 a lot of that time (it was one which cuts out UV I believe) and this kept him totally fine. If his mask came off for any length of time (as in days not hours), his eye would ulcerate and then would require cream from the vet. I don't think his uveitis was too bad actually, I scared myself reading up on it but his never got any worse in the 6 years or so that I had him.
 
My pony had this, when they have an attack it is very painful & the others are all correct that the horse needs to be kept out of the sunlight.  The vet ultimately treated my mare with steroid injections under her eyelids, the whole thing was a nightmare to manage, as I was constantly on tenterhooks looking for symptoms, unfortunately there was no happy ending & she was sadly PTS
