I am looking at getting a dryer as not had one for many years.

I am a little concerned that a dryer with only 2 heat settings may still shrink horsey stuff like toggi/musto tshirts sweatshirts etc

Does it>>

Once the weather's too foul to dry outside on the line all of my stuff goes in the dryer apart from breeches with leather or suede seats and waterproof coats. Polo shirts, fleeces, other breeches, padded non waterproof jackets, etc all go in.

Why don't you look at the care labels on the clothes you already have? Then you will know whether they can go in the drier or not.

I used to do this years ago when I had one but I still had some things shrink that said they could be dried on a low heat. It seems the dryer I had the low heat was still too high ????

I tumbledried a BRAND NEW Joules rugby shirt... It shrunk in length but remained the same widthways!! So I had a baggy croptop with 3/4 sleeves!!!!

Since then my horsey clothes have avoided the tumbledryer... Lol

OH NO!! This is what I am worried about!! OUt of interest what did the label say about drying it?

hmmmmm maybe not such a good idea! I am at home today so just checked the care labels most of my stuff says 'do not tumble dry' This is polo shirts etc how silly is that!!

Many waterproof items are better tumble dried. I don't have a drier and the only time I wish I did was when my goretex stuff needs washing - then I visit my mum.......

Everything else goes on a clothes horse in the house.

We can't even line dry as our garden has overhanging mature trees and we don't have central heating.

Tumble driers are very greedy on electric too.

I normally dry stuff in or out doors BUT I don't have much heat on in the house so it just doesn't dry very well, especially in the spare room which is the only place I have room to dry stuff. It is even worse in that period between when it won't dry out side but not cold enough to have the heating on!!
