Tumour on man parts

Not mine thank god

but sadly one of my mates horses was diagnosed with a tumour on the end of his willy.

He has to have an op to remove it and a few inches so hopefully that will be that, but if it has spread it wont be good news.

Has anyone had any experience of this kind of op please?

Ill also post in vets.

My old YO had one come in from a dealer with this - sadly it was too far on for surgery and it got to the point where he couldn't retract his penis and when he did manage it it would not extend - he was at that point weeing directly from his sheath which then got infected - sadly he was PTS - vet said if it had been treated in time there should have been no problems so hopefully in your mates case it should be the same.

my friends horse had this op , all was well for a year
then it spread again and he had to be pts

but it gave her another year with him

Oh dear I havent actually seen it myself but apparently half his tackle has been eaten away so doesnt sound good

Sad thing is it could have been caught earlier but I wont go into that.

Lost my old boy to this, and a few other problems, in the New Year, but he was well into his twenties.
Have known of several horses who had the op and it significantly prolonged their lives.

A horse on the yard where i kept mine had this. He was about 24 at the time, he had the operation and is still going strong 3 years later so dont give up yet! im not sure how advanced his was though.

Hi, this probably wont help much as the horse didnt have a tumour, but he was sedated to be clipped and his willy dodnt go back in after...was actually removed and his urinary tract was diverted between his legs so he peed like a mare

I have to say I was shocked as had never seen this before or since but the horse was happy with life!!!

Hope this horse gets better
