So after deciding not to go to Badders - 2 1/2 hours each way and £60+ to get in we took Donkey to Sherwood Forest.

Hubby loaded his beloved mountain bike in the car and we loaded Donkey with minimal fuss into the trailer

She traveled so much better without the partition - favours the passenger side though

. Found the horse park and tacked up - I think she thought she was going hunting!! On her toes, if only she would trot out in the show ring like she did today - she was fantastic we only did small amounts of trotting on sand tracks but she floated!! She would not allow hubby to get too far ahead - she pranced if he was out of her range!!

It was so beautiful in the woods, saw a fox and loads of squizzels! We returned to the visitors centre, hubby went off to get ice creams and she stood and screamed for him

and she loves Soleno (sp) ice cream!!!

Reloaded again with minimal fuss - another family had been there over an hour trying to load their mare - just hope the mix we left them with helped.

Will post some pics later - but I love my Donkey!!!!!

She did discrace herself when we stopped for lunch and she stood on hubbys foot

Sounds like a lovely day. It took me 3 hours to get mine into the box today and we travelled her without the partition for the first time and she too prefers the passenger side.

I thought of Turbo Donkey last week! I took a friend's horse on a sponsored ride. I'm sure she has a little Cleveland bay in her. Here is my favourite photo of her that day:

Anyway, she's normally really quiet, but was totally turbo-charged last week! floaty trot, really collected canter etc. Reminded me of your posts about the donkey
