Turmeric Cough?

Hi all, just after a bit of advice! I have recently started my horse on turmeric to help with his joints now he is getting a bit older and the weather is getting cooler. I've noticed he has recently developed a small cough, nothing major but enough to notice it. I'm wondering if it is to do with the black pepper in the turmeric? His hay is soaked and he lives out at the moment but wondered if anyone else had a similar issue?

No, I've fed multiple horses turmeric and black pepper and never had any of them cough.

I put one of mine on a natural herbal supplement for itching and she developed a cough. Took her off it and it went away straight away. Not turmeric I know but there was something in that that didn’t agree with her so could easily happen with other things. I would try taking him off it and see if the cough goes.

I would also do this, especially as it is the most recent change you have made. Of course, the cough might have been caused by something else, but this will help you work it out.
