I'm having a dilemma I need some advice for.
My 4yr old is very bum high and has a lot of growing to do. I've had him roughly 7 months but he's had around 3 months off at different times with foot balance issues which are hopefully now sorted.
My dilemma is whether I should leave him off for winter as currently I'm struggling to ride due to bad weather, can't get the trailer out to go to an indoor as our very rural track is icy and disintegrating before our eyes and my arena surface is desperately needing topped up and is really only suitable to walk on just now. I could try to ride when I can and do what I can but I'm wondering if it's worth it and whether I'd be better to admit defeat and leave him off til I can bring him back into consistent work??! I think the time off would be good for him to mature physically as he is growing so much and he'll still be in at nights and be handled daily so no chance of him becoming ferral
