Hi all hopefully on Thursday I’ll get good news from the Vet to finally put my ex racer out after 10 weeks box rest from a front pedal bone fracture ? very worried how he will react, he’s being turned out in approx 2 acre field with my other 2, both of which may run round for a bit but to lazy to continue for long? would a calmer be a good idea? Going to ask the vet if a sedative maybe needed? Has anyone had any experience with this thanks

When I’ve had horses on long periods of box test following injury I’ve had them sedated then I turned them out and stayed with them, the potential for an explosion and reinjury was always too much of a worry for me!
