I am off to Kentucky with my uni for 3 weeks (April - begining of May) horse will be moving to his holiday yard at the end of March, and I will plan to turn him out 24/7 straight away. He will be with 3 2-3 year olds, and will probably teach them all his naughty tricks!!
I will go up and ride him everyday whilst I am in the UK, and keep feeding him whilst he is is full work. Now my main question is do I keep feeding him when he will be living out and not being ridden, and just ask for his rations to be reduced and gradually build up again alongside his riding once I am back?? He won't be brought in, just checked over, and the grazing he will be put on is really nice.
He is looking good at the moment, and will be pretty fit when I go away, really not sure what to do...
Sorry for rambling...
Also at the moment he is fed 2 scoops of Alfa-A and 2 scoops of build up cubes (spread over two meals)
