So moved Hun to new yard today :D I love it and do does she! We are putting Hun with the herd soon but until she gets to know them she is a paddock next to them, they have all come over and said hello and hunni squeals and strikes out with front hoof, any idea why? She was turned out with horses with old owner! Is this just saying hello? Help
Please :D

nothing to worry about shes just saying hello and getting excited cos theres lots of new friends.x

Normal behaviour, no reason but when new horses meet and greet it is usual to have a good snort and prance, they need to recognise others in their new herd, and sometimes have to establish the pecking order too.

Squealing and striking or stamping is trying to be dominant she's trying to sort out her place in the herd. Even though separated by a fence she will be part of that herd and establish her place.
