My boys were turned out over summer together. Apart from a few rug rips they were fine. A few years before my ridden horse kicked my oldie as he was being a pain. My tb is a pain in the field in winter, he hates being out, so I bring in at lunchtime which I think is a good compromise. My boys are currently separated. I think they would settle better together but I'm worried about the gateway. It's electric tape. I put mud mats down and they have been great. I'm tempted to try again both together but obviously don't want any injuries!! Arrggh!!

What's the worry about the gateway- getting one in and not the other? Or it getting very poached?

Either way, I wonder if building a small corral (out of electric tape) at the gate (if space allows) would help?

They mess about at the gateway when they see me, then it's getting both out together without me getting squished. I can't bring in separately as I wouldn't be able to get the tape back across quick enough. I'm very tempted to put them together but would never forgive myself if one got injured.

Ah right I see. I do wonder if making a little coral at the gate with mud control mats would still help. Get one in to the coral, if the other comes through, send them back into the field briefly. Take the first right out- is there a track or similar where they can wait? And then bring the second through?

Is there someone who could help you bring in the first few times?
