My mare cut her front leg slightly yesterday whilst hooning around in the field so I was thinking about getting her some turnout boots.
Do I need a full set or will just a front set be ok?

to be honest - if cut slightly whilst having a hoon - I wouldn't spend the money. If she's normally fine then put it down to a one off and don't worry about it. Unless she's accident prone, then you could spend money on boots and she cut herself above her knee, on her hock, on her stifle etc....everywhere but where the boots are, but you can't get a body turnout wrap for them and expect them to enjoy themselves....

My skinny legged chap wears turnout boots this time of year.....he's a veteran, and I like to think they keep him warm and stop him getting stiff. Plus he could injure himself in an empty field so the more of him that is covered the better.

If I could get a total body wrap...or have him laminated...then I would

we just use fronts but have a mare who is wide behind and close in front so has a tendency to whack herself. She is also a numnut who often doesnt seem to know where her feet actually are.

The equilibirum turnout chaps are well worth the extra money as they last much longer than the others we have had.
