turnout for horse on its own

My two horses are sharing a field at night in new paddock as mine has been sprayed and we have to keep off for 3 weeks.My tb is going saturday leaving the mare on her own.There is a stable at the back of field with horse in it so she will be able to see another horse if she stays close by.She has always had company so Im bit worried about how she will react to losing her companion and being on her own. I have two more weeks with this set up before we go back, she will be in her regular stable during the day but there will be no one to check her during nightime turnout.Any ideas to make it little easier for her.I cant borrow horse as they are not my paddocks.

She'll be fine once she gets used to the set up - my 4 yr old had to be put in a separate paddock away from my yearling as they hate each other and whilst the other two went out together, 4 yr old was on her own. Paced the fence for a couple of days but soon got used to it.

It's not for long so try not to worry too much

I might try taking her over first for few days and she how she copes on her own for half a hour.Timing is bit rubbish at moment but I cant delay Ollie going.

We moved from a yard with herd grazing to one with individual grazing a few years ago. Most horses if they can see another one are fine. Our current horse isn't bothered if he can't see a friend. One massive advantage is that you don't get horses kicked by each other.

All of ours are on individual turnout - they can all see other horses and some can touch . They are absolutely fine with it - as Divasmum says it stops all the scrapping over food etc I'm sure she will be fine - I would put her out with some food or some hay to distract her.
