Hi guys, I know this has been done to death but I'm getting a nice hat and jacket for Christmas and the Mothership want to get it nice and early so can anybody help?

I it to be suitable for prelim and novice dressage, showjumping, showing and hunting :) She's chunky and chestnut so I was thinking a green tweed with a navy collar and a navy velvet hat?
And does anybody have any suggestions for show classes? She's 15.1 1/2 and I don't want to jump this season, but I will want to next year :)

The tweed sounds good with a navy hat you can do all classes in that turnout.

Showing I would say small riding horse, you can also do novice classes and if you are young enough there are a range of intermediate classes for riders under 21 riding horses up to 158 cms plus some where the rider can be under 25 so plenty to choose from if you look around.

I can't say much on the turnout front, I don't go to shows very often!

I did want to say though that she is a beautiful horse. I don't normally think chestnuts have the *wow* factor, but she definately does!

I would definitely go for the navy velvet hat, one with a cream leather chin strap would look lovely :D

The green tweed would look smart for showing, but it's more acceptable to wear navy or black jacket for everything else, especially dressage. ( I'll probably get abuse from people who wear tweed.. )

:)

ETA: For the showing classes, probably Riding Horse is your best bet :). And when you want to jump again she'd make a lovely working hunter. And why not try some Tack & Turnout in your new hat/jacket :D Good luck!

Great thank you! I'm going to have a good sniff around show schedules soon :)

Thank you very much :) I fell inlove with her the second I saw her head pop over the stable door and I saw her little star and blaze combo :)

I do have a black one, the one in the pic but my black hat is vented so I don't like wearing it out really. I think it looks a bit scruffy :o A good excuse for two jackets? Oh yes :p

What you are suggesting sounds good to me and just wanted to say your mare is lovely :)

Thank you very much :D
