I moved mine off a livery yard, to 15 acres so that I could have them out 24/7 and have sufficient grazing. They live as a herd, currently 4 mares, 2 geldings, with my pony joining them when he isn't on loan. Some of the horses have now lived together for fast approaching 10 years, with our most recent edition 3 years ago.
I would, and do sacrifice facilities for turnout, especially with decent grazing.

Ours are out 24/7 in summer but in at night after about November until the beginning of April or thereabouts depending on the weather. They have their own paddocks but can talk to each other across the fence if they want and they very often don't want to do that.

Voted for the last one but they are only in pm in the winter, not in full stop

We have 24/7 group turnout in the summer and then out all together during the whole day in the winter (bringing back in before gets dark).

I personally think turn out is the main consideration for any equine and owner, when considering where to keep them.

I would not be happy unless I knew exactly what other horses mine would be turned out with, for how long and that it was a static group. Also whether these was enough grass/too little grass and to be able to find a suitable solution if more or less grass was required.

I have the luxury of being in total control (or as much as you can every be!) of my horse's turnout and would not be happy if I did not.
