Turnout Rug Recommendations

Wetherbeeta all the way, whatever weight

Anything from the Horseware Ireland family!!!!
I really like the 'wugs' (available in medium weight, with a higher cut neck) or the Amigos are cheaper and still ace quality!!

I like my Mark Todd, my last pony had one of them as well and it was really good. As posted above Amigos are meant to be good. I'm also impressed with my new heavyweight Rhino Plus turnout, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the mediumweight if I needed a new one.

I like my weatherbeeta too, especially the takas. I bought a cheap rhinegold mw and was suprised by how well it fits and seems to be well made. Time will tell though!

Weatherbeeta landa - a lovely mw turnout with extra large tail flap and leaves my mares mane lovely and silky. Super value.
Also bought a rhinegold thor off ebay and surprised what good quality it was for cheapo rug.

Thanks for all your comments, sorry haven't heard of knight rider rugs - do they talk to you?

Will now go and check them all out - my boy is 15.1 welshie in 6'3" and not yet 5 so heaven knows what he will need when he's finished growing!

I have used Rhino, Bucas and GFS turnouts that are all really good (my horse leans over the barbed wire fence to eat the grass the other side...)

I had a loveson turnout that he shredded doing this - otherwise not a bad rug

Fal slumberdown - nice quality, rubbed his shoulders within a day

Weatherbeeta all the way for me, they seem to fit a *ahem* larger build of horse!

Although i have found that Mastas are good for this too.

Both hardy types of rugs.

Not keen on Loveson, dont last very long and saxon just dont seem to fit right, shires seem to be too restrictive on the neck.

But i think every horse has a different shape and each rug is made differently so will fit different horses, if that makes sense!!

Mark todds all the way! Just had to get a masta as an emergency measure as got new horse and had no rug for her....came up quite small and don't rate it compared to the mark todd heavyweight combos I bought this summer, they are LOVELY!
