I'm after your recommendations for a medium weight turnout rug. I'm looking for something with around 200g of filling, preferably with an attached neck cover although I could cope with a well fitting detachable neck. Also needs to be at least 1200D as one of my horses is a rug ripper and her 600D lightweight looks rather like a colander!

Which rugs do you like?

My amigo 1200D medium weight (200grm) has done me proud, they come in detachable and combo designs. They are cost effective too. But would also recommend the fal chieftain, I have the lightweight (40grm version) and its a very good rug they come in the three different weights, they are slightly more money. They come in detachable neck style.

Used to always use weatherbeeta for my girl, they have lasted well but recently bought a lightweight Amigo and its brilliant, thinking of getting a med weight one too. Friend has the PE turnout and it seems to be very good

Google a company called protuff. Their rugs are really cheap and really good. My horse that shreads his on barbed wire hasnt managed to get through the two I bought last year!
