Could anyone help me with possible turnout rug brands that suit a narrower Connie x TB that we have please?

She is currently wearing an Amigo, which is not bad for fit but is a little gappy round the neck. I was thinking of a Rambo Wug or a PE Buster Hi Neck. Being in deepest Cornwall we don't have many tack shops so rug shopping is internet based so happy to try and send back but I thought if anyone could give me a heads up on possibles to try it would be much appreciated.

Looking for either a standard cut or high neck and I would be wanting a medium and a heavy weight.

I would go for a Wug as they seem to fit narrows easier than other types, even other brands of high necks don't seem to fit so well IMO plus you can but a size up and the rest just drapes further at the back end; they're great for growing youngsters for that reason!
Saying that, last year I bought a Rambo Polo with a detached neck; they are cut slightly shallower than a normal rug (polo ponies aren't that deep!) beautiful rug, shame I have nothing to fit it now! I got it for a bargain price from https://www.orchardequestrian.com/Lightweight-Turnout-Rugs/ so might be worth a look on there as they often do special deals and were very easy to deal with, delivery was within a few days too.

Thanks Maesfan, for the advice and the link. Yes it is a baby horse so still has to fill out a bit, I also see that they do a Wug in the Amigo range, might be worth a try before spending out a lot of pennies!

Well, how narrow is narrow? Pops is pretty narrow (riding him is like riding a broomstick) but he takes a 6 foot 6 rug because of his size. Just this weekend, I bagged up his rugs to go off to be washed/reproofed and repaired and realized that an awful lot of them are Shires - and they fit him really well.

So - sorry to be rambly, but I'd say Shires for a narrow one that needs to fill out :).

I would also go for Horseware Wugs. I had a Rhino Wug on my grey when she was a gangly two year old with no width to her and it fitted really well.

I always used to put my old Thoroughbred mare in Shires rugs, and often use them for my dainty Welsh B as well. They never seem to have any gaping parts to let the cold in, always last well and are very reasonably priced. She also used to have a couple of Mastas that were a nice fit.

Thank you all, she is not ridiculously narrow, she is four and a bit daintier than what we have had in the past!

Interesting about the votes for Shires, as I spied that they do a high neck version.

TBF, my Thoroughbred mare wasn't terribly dainty either. Her old rugs also happen to be a lovely fit on my current Connie x TB, so Shires' proportions might be just what you're looking for.

I find the shires turnout I have for mare is a really good fit, she's an odd one as trotter x cob so she's finer at the front and and has a cob back end (not as odd as it sounds she just hasnt yet filled out in the chest), the shires combo fits her snugly.
