Where can I buy waterproof but breathable fabric from? High viz would be even better.
I want a thin waterproof exercise sheet and am unable to find firstly what I want but more so one that properly fits my horse who is a slightly odd shape!
I'm going to give making one a try 😳
 
Not sure where you could buy that kind of fabric off the roll...

This article might help with the terminology for searching and choosing a material.

Remember to tape over seams after sewing, or the rain will get in through the stitching holes.

You might have trouble finding a breathable material in reflective hi-viz, so maybe look at using SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea" "glint" tape over the seams and along the edges.
 
A quick check on EBay "waterproof horse rug fabric" brings up plenty of choice by the metre. I've also seen plenty of chest straps and surcingles for sale on there too so shouldn't be too difficult to get. You do obviously have to post pics of the finished article :)
 
Oh great. Will go to eBay and have a look.
I think I have actually found something though. High viz yellow, micro light waterproof fabric, breathable suitable for making jackets apparently so sounds perfect.
Need binding and stuff though, eBay sounds good.
