Hi all, My pony is going to winter in this year as he's gettin on a bit now and i really like the idea of him being all snug as a bug
My friend is going to turn out each morning as she doesnt work through winter.
My question is, how many people stable their horses overnight in their turnout rugs?
I dont want to have to put the burden/expectation on her to also change his rug each day as well as feed as she is also doing the same for another friend on top of sorting her own 2 horses out.
He wintered in quite a few years ago and i just stabled him in his turnout rug then as couldnt afford all the "extras" on top of the weekly rent - turnout, feed, lead out, wash buckets, replace water etc.
So, what are the pro's and con's??
some people say change as the rugs "act" differently and serve their own purpose and some say dont so that the horse retains the heat in the rug rather than a fresh cold rug??
