since the weather has got a bit crappy again i want to turn my horse out with a rug on for when it rains.... can anyone recommend anything lighter than the lightweight masta as he still gets warm in this...? any good simple rain sheets?

I have the amigo summer turnout and its ok..... but the horse feels kind of cold and damp underneath if its rained heavily.... I dont think he is actually wet as its not leaking, he just feels cold:(

I also have the amigo, You know when you wear a kagool type thing over a vest and although the rain dosen,t go through you still feel kind of damp? well thats what merlins quest is on about!!
That said in not too heavy a downpour its a great little rug, perfect for summer showery days

2nd vote for amigo - very good value light rug and never had one leak. Or if you are feeling richer go for the Rhino lightweight - never leaks and properly breathable.

Brilliant discription

Premier equestrian!! The rug istelf isnt as heavy as the masta and they are incredibly waterproof, none of mine have ever leaked - a must in this crazy weather! I also have an amigo but i dont quite trust it in heavy rain......

I have one from a small line called 'Jumper' and it is fantastic.
Very lightweight and also has a mesh lining so could go towards keeping the horse cool perhaps.
