As the title. What's the difference in coverage, cost and anything else you can think of, please?

I only saw ATR for the first time last Saturday on their free day, haven't seen RacingUK at all so a really blank canvas for you to impress me with your thoughts if you would please.

ATR is free to view for anyone who has Sky, Racing UK is a pay to view channel, occasionally they will have a freeview day which I assume is to advertise what they can offer. Last Saturday they stepped in to show racing as ITV didnt take over till 1st Jan and there would have been no racing on terrestrial tv on a Saturday at all. IMO RUK is good value if you are a racing fan, I think I pay about £25 pcm for it but they cover all the big tracks and meetings plus lots of features. The money made is put back into the sport and all the biggest racecourses are covered by RUK, ATR covers the all weather meetings, lots of Irish racing and the smaller UK courses so all the big festivals are on RUK. The meetings are all shown live but replayed later in the day so you can catch up. As with anything, there are pluses and minuses, some of the presenters are annoying, some are great, they focus a bit too much on the betting for my liking but as a lot of the sponsors are in the industry theres no getting away from it. On days when there are 3 or more meetings from courses which belong to RUK the coverage gets a bit rushed but you can always catch up on the replay later when they have more time to catch up with things. I think they are very good at keeping the viewer informed and have some very good features on trainers, yards, owners and horses. I "think" if you sign up with them you can get a trial offer period.

ATR is sky channel 415, RUK is 432. I think after a couple of days watching the very low grade racing on ATR you will want to try RUK, even though it costs, the quality of the horses and the racing is just so much better. Not that I should be encouraging you to sit on your bum watching the telly, but in the winter, as a lover of the NH game, it fills my evenings when there is little else worth watching!

Lol, my thoughts exactly Che. If I pay too much I will feel obliged to use it (sit on bum) to make it worth having and that won't bode well with him indoors! As the only racing fan here I would just be happy having something for me to watch after all, I have to put up with Welsh football on a Saturday night (I bury my head in a book!) as there's nothing else worth watching, we're not into talent shows!
