TV - wild horses of the Canadian Rocky Mountains

There was a bit of bouncing in the shots early on so they were a long way away.
Yes I think a lot were drone or distance camera work, but for instance the very last shot Gordon was talking to camera with Socks (I think) walking away from him towards the camera. Unless he'd set up a camera and it was pure luck that Socks walked that way. I'm not being picky about the program, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but just wondering how it was done.

Was anyone else constantly worrying about who was watching lovely Diego? 😆

Really enjoyed it and I learnt something. I didn't realise that family groups can have more than one stallion. Crusoe was stunning, and I loved when he approached Gordon. He clearly wasn't worried but very curious about him.

Crusoe and Red seemed to have come to an understanding by the end.

He seemed to be tied up very short with no food available. Also, when he was loaded into the trailer, it was full of muck. They could have cleaned it out.
My first thought when I saw that is that they may have filmed that after a few attempts from different angles or after the journey.

I've just watched it; this afternoon! (Monday). Just sat down in the middle of "jobs" with a cuppa, and it was on. So that was that for the next hour.

Really interesting; and actually nice that you didn't have some NH "expert" telling you what they perceived was happening with the horses all the time (or equally - horror of horrors - just imagine how seriously awful it would've been with someone like Clare Balding, or Chris P); but this guy obviously isn't of this particular mindset, and it was actually very refreshing just listening to him give his own perceptions and experiences.

I too worried about that lovely coloured horse Diego which he was using......... my mare is a sweetheart, and of any horse she'd be the one who'd just be standing there waiting for me, but to just abandon a domesticated horse in the middle of the wilderness was at best sheer folly and at worst woeful neglect. Certainly it was very foolish and thoughtless, anything could have happened to Diego. Also, later on when he journeys on foot with the herd, I guess we have to assume that the "horsemaster" of the programme would have come along and transported Diego to where he was next needed.

An interesting perspective nonetheless.

I enjoyed it but same as others I couldn’t help worrying about Diego but with my sensible head on I think it would be unlikely that he would be left completely alone and although Gordon kept saying he was alone I’m pretty sure there would have been a camera crew there as well..
^^^ Yeaph, no doubt. And no doubt also that they've have had a trained Marksman around when he was in the middle of the big woods on the bear track....... all the same, I think I'd have needed a change of underwear after that!

I enjoyed the shots of the horses and their interactions. I very rarely watch tv, I did enjoy it overall.
The mares being in season… shouldn’t they have been covered by then? Wouldn’t they mate on the foal heat?
