I am looking to buy a new tweed jacket this year as mine isnt really a very good fit anymore.
I have a dark bay welsh pony and am a bit stuck on colour to get. My jacket at the minute is quite neutral and I wear a bright red tie, which I love with his colour.
I was thinking something like brown with a red overcheck or maybe a dark green with something like red in the overcheck. Thing is we arent serious, serious showers and I dont want to look like all the gear and no idea!! hehehe
Any favourites from people with dark bays? Would love to see your pictures!!

A dark green is always a good choice and will certainly fit in without you looking as if you have all the gear etc. if you find your current tie is not quite right with the new jacket that is easily changed, I pick up nice silk ties in charity shops well worth looking as it can be good to change once in a while, it doesn't matter how seriously you take your showing it is good to feel smart when you are in the ring.
Try a few different jackets and go with the one you feel good in, a well cut jacket can make a real difference to the overall picture.

This was mine. Its a Caldene jacket.

Yes red is great for dark bay, so if you get a greeish type jacket with a bit of red you can wear a red tie, or even a green one on occasion, agree with charity shops for ties.

I got three brand new M&S shirts from one charity shop, I find the ones which are not in the high street have the best selection tbh.
