tweed flat cap or black velvet riding hat?

Showing my part bred m&m in youngstock inhand classes. What's best to wear on my head, tweed flat cap or black velvet riding hat? Will be wearing either tweed jacket or waistcoat depending on weather on the day.

Many youngstock classes insist on protective headwear for the handlers.

I would recomend hard hat for youngstock classes, after a woman locally was killed in the ring when her youngster reared and landed on her head.
