I'm on the hunt for a tweed for my cob for next season (and taking advantage of Christmas/sales) and am struggling for suitable options that don't cost the earth

Cob in question flits between very bright and almost liver, and obviously I'd like to match both. The light tweed that I used this season looks very washed out so I think he needs something dark but would love suggestions. I don't have a massive budget as I'm a student but it's also most likely only local level until he's matured out some more.

I quite like this (https://www.rydale.com/products/ladies-tweed-jacket-megan?variant=32095207915591) but am concerned it's a bit bright for a cob class.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately thats a fashion jacket, its not cut for riding in and will show it when you are onboard. You don’t want something with double pockets and you do want something with double vents at the back, a single vent never sits right

I would go for a green tweed with a subtle overcheck, i wouldn’t necessarily go too dark either.

i would always go for a quality second hand wool jacket over a cheap new jacket.
Ive no idea of your size but ebay is always a good bet

that said if you are determined to get new then something like this

Shires do a tweed jacket in multiple different colours including a darker green. I’d have a look at their website to see if it’s suitable then try and find a stockist with a Sale on. Some have Black Friday sales that have been on for the week?
