I'm going to start braving a few low level local comps and so need to invest in a jacket. Think I'll go for a nice tweed as that's correct for everything I want to do. I prefer black, but that's not, so tweed it is :)

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced ladies jacket that sits well on an hourglass figure please? I have a little waist but a more 'ample' bust shall we say. I often find if I go big enough to fit my bust it dwarves my waist and I look like I'm wearing my grandmother's clothes.

Suggestions gratefully received :) At this point I don't want to get anything made to measure as it's only going to be a bit of fun, not worth breaking the bank for!

I have the same problem!! My old Caldene was brilliant, really tailored and made the most of my waist but still had room for the bust. However couldn;t afford another one this time round, and have gone for a Shires Huntingdon, which isn't quite so fitted, but feels very comfy and looks good, just not quite as good as my Caldene!!

Thanks for this, was also wondering about jackets for a fuller bust! I also have the same problem.

Is this jacket suitable for dressage and showjumping? I've been into horses my whole life but never competed - now I have my own and I'm looking to dabble in the competitive sphere, so have no idea on rules lol sorry if this is a stupid question!

Also on a tight budget so can't afford more than one jacket lol

And sorry for hijacking your thread, OP!

lol, no problem. As far as I understand it tweed is 'legal' for dressage and showjumping at the lower levels - also good for nearly all showing classes and hunting. If I went for black it would limit my showing options!

I got the Dublin Cambridge one a few months ago (b-day pressie) as I wanted a tweed jacket due to me having great plans for my youngster this year (yeah, so far they've not gone to plan!) Anyway, I like the jacket colour wise and fit. I am also a size 10 and have bust although I don't know how big you are meaning! :D It seems to have a fair bit of room though. I am a D/DD!

I'm (ridiculously) hourglass shaped and have a caldene tweed. Fits relatively nicely and has room for a bust. You may boil in the one I have tho it's like a winter coat it's that warm!

Oh sorry, looks like mine's a 12 actually not a 10. I am quite broad though but then to be honest it's quite roomy (probably because my mum has bought me a size too big! lol). I think I am a size 11! :D Looks like the smallest adult size they do is 10.
