does anyone know any sites, which i can buy tweed jackets im looking for something fitted and lovely style for showing my horse. ive found a few but just seeing if anyone knows of anymore?

Good question I wouldn't mind one to dabble in the odd show next summer but they're all like 75 quid!

showing gems online i think its called do stunning jackets but i think they start at like £150 !! i have a plan tweed one but it abit boring i want to girly it up abit.

Pretty Ponies, Mrs Candy (Foxley), Showing Selection, Le Beau Cheval all do lovely Tweeds but can't get away from it they are pricey!

Horsegossip has a for sale ection where you can pick up fab 2nd hand tweeds, I paid £85 for a lovely mustard tweed that cost £250 new :)

I have a Shires Huntingdon in green with blue velvet trim, its about £80 online but i got mine from a local tack shop for £45  however they are very good and worth the money IMO :)

ETA... oops cross posted sorry :)

Ditto Shire's Huntington jackets if you're not wanting to spend a fortune. Nice material, lovely colour and cut and no more than £80, but looks far more expensive.
mandwhy : £75 is a cheap tweed jacket?! You won't find anything for less than that in a nice colour (i.e not cheap blue/grey) and cut unless it's second hand( or you' lucky in a sale.)

thanks everyone. tbh im not fussed on price as im looking to ask the other half for it for christmas i just want to make sure i like it and it will go with the horse as its a lot of money. i will take a look i quite like to ones with blue velvet on the collar.

I guess so Kallibear I think I meant minimum 75! I quite like the caldene one with purpley hints in the threads, I am a bit of a cheapskate since I only want to have a go and see if I enjoy it :-)

We have a mrs candy set which looks fab, the problem with some of the cheaper ones is from a distance, the cut looks cheap and the tweed material less substantial. I'm lucky I borrow from a friend and she has the next couple of sizes up as lolly grows she can just have the next size up but I would certainly buy from her as I like the cut and quality :)

This is the Mrs Candy that we show in at the moment. We think that the blue really shows him off nicely. The lady that shows him is slightly too small for the jacket so it hangs on her somewhat but this was my little girl's first show so we wanted to make sure that she was ok with the whole showing scene before investing in their own tweed...we can borrow for Lolly but we she will need to have her own size in the tweed to match - thank goodness its not my pony and not my expense!!lol

I love Mrs Candy jackets, often we notice that some of the other jackets seem to have a lot less shape whereas these ones are cut to make both rider and adult a much more flattering and attractive shape - but that is only my opinion :)

Mine is a Mears tweed. It was £110 when my grandpa took me to the tackshop 15 years ago to buy it. Its quite a heavy weight, but although it is getting slightly too tight, I always get a comment on how nice it is every time I wear it.

I actually love tweed and had a phase of wearing it a lot when I was about 15 (trendsetter obviously) I do wonder if I could get away with a jacket that looks vaguely like a showing jacket... Controversial? I am quite handy with the sewing machine and could add blue velvet! I wonder how the equestrian circuit feels about such recycling?
