Twenty ponies rescued after falling through the ice in Iceland

Not thats it's any better but it was 10 ponies that went through the ice & they could touch the bottom.
I very much doubt that they stood on the chaps thigh to get footing as it would push him under. For the ponies nearer the end of the rescue which were getting cold & tired they got straps in to help pull them out with.
