Anyone there this weekend ?

We are running on Saturday afternoon, be nice to catch up with any H&HOers
nerves kicking in already ...

I'm also running Saturday afternoon, Section G. I'm on a big grey horse with black & gold XC colours. Good luck!

Hi there, LOL...
section G for me too.. I have a bright bay chap and pale blue and white XC colours, good luck to you too!! :)

I am there on Saturday, we have dropped back to 80 to start the season after a bit of a wobble on the confidence front, but I am last in section A so might still catch you Monte1.

Good luck to everyone, weather is looking perfect so should be a good day :)

I'm on Saturday too, late morning, chestnut with 4 white socks and a blaze, judging by our ride tonight I'll probably be clutching my neck strap and hoping for the best!!

Section B - early but not as early as usual (normally 1st or 2nd in....). Feeling horribly unprepared as business travel has been getting in the way of training in the last month. Show jumping especially could be "interesting".

Section D here. It's a 2 hour drive for us so early start. Daughter riding my horse - first ODE of the season so no idea whether he'll remember what to do or whether he'll be a little excited!

Wow that is late Monte1, glad I didn't do the 90 I would have had a melt down by then!

Are you planning to do Mattingley in May?

MCTM our showjumping is always interesting lol, so I can sympathise with those worries :o)

LOL....yes, it is late!!!........on the plus side, at least wont be too many people around watching by then ???............ I have actually just asked to move up if they have any drop outs, but I am assuming that is what we are doing. I will be walking the course tomorrow, about same time as XC time, so I guess I will have the same sort of light conditions for comparision.

sadly, can't do Mattingley as we are away, hence the entry now.. might not get out again for a while :(

BDWP very kindly just moved my times to 13.22 15.41 16.26..yaay

Late times for me, DR 15.48 SJ 17.42 and XC 18.27!! Luckily i am only 40 mins away so should get home before dark, and have time to walk xc between dressage and SJ.

Will probably miss you Monte1 as it's my OH birthday dinner on Saturday night. I will keep an eye out for others - I'm only local so I tend to pop back in the afternoon. Good luck to everybody and have fun!

Yay that's much better, might well catch you then :)

Shame you are away for Mattingley but sure you won't worry about it once you are lounging on the beach! Was really sad to hear they aren't doing any other unaffs this year, but it has pushed me to get back to 90 quicker than I might have done as don't want to miss it.

Good luck everyone, look forward to hearing all the reports.

Monte1 did you walk the 90 xc this afternoon? What was it like?
Hi, yes it was a nice course , ground is lovely. Whole thing is fairly straightforward, no ditches or real surprises. One thing I noticed the course plan in the programme is NOT the course you are riding, so check when collecting your number. I have a couple hours between dr and sj so plan to walk again just to double check everything.... Getting a bit nervous now ....

How did everyone get on?

We had a good day, 29.5 in the dressage, although how that happened is still a mystery and clear show jumping our first ever so a monumental day :) and clear xc. We ended up 2nd thanks mainly I think to quite a lot of people getting eliminated at the water due to the flagging. Thankfully there were lots of people scratching their heads when I walked the course so benefited from the group discussion and their superior knowledge!

Also thank you to the lady who had just been xc who stopped me on my way to warm up and made sure I knew where I was going at the water :)

On paper it looked like a pretty disastrous days for me, but I can take some positives out of it. Dressage felt lovely, was a bit disappointed that I didn't break the sub 30 barrier but was happy enough with a 31 and I think we may have been equal 2nd in the section (haven't looked closely at all the scores). SJ is our bête noire so only having one pole is an improvement, just a shame we also had a really silly stop - don't know what happened as she rarely stops, she just wasn't paying attention to me. So with time penalties it looks horrible..... :(
Lottie was awesome across country, well within the time so I was gutted to see that I was one of the many who fell foul of the flagging at the second water. Still not sure where the right white flag was but totally my fault for not paying enough attention when I walked the course in a rush on Friday afternoon and I was fairly early to go so had t picked up there was an issue. I think I can partly blame my general state of mind about competing over the past few weeks which have been very stressful at work. I've never made a mistake like that before but, if you're going to do something silly like that at least do it on a day when you aren't going to win or be placed!!

I saw you in the distance Clarew22, but afraid I didn't make it over to say hi, I did have a quick chat with Monte1 though.

Now just waiting to see whether I'm going to Chilham - I'm next on the waitlist so keeping my fingers crossed.

My rather brilliant pony got a double clear in the intro on Sunday yay! But I got about a billion (24!!!) time faults, largely due to acute water flag paranoia - when I got home my friend said "you were the only person I saw who trotted so slowly in the water". Oops sorry pony! It was a fab day out tho, thanks to all organisers and stewards :)
