Hope she is reunited with her family. Can’t imagine how they felt watching that footage
 
I couldn't watch the footage as I know it would haunt me.

Just so glad to hear there was a happy ending.
 
“Everyone… we have the most amazing news… Twig is home!!!

She’s a little subdued by the whole experience but a tip off this evening (via FB) from someone that had seen all of the publicity and awareness, has meant we were able to be reunited about 11pm.

We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the posts and reposts and noise that has meant that she most likely did become “too hot to handle”.

BBC have just reported this story - they’re a bit behind if the dog has been found 🙄
 
So glad she's been found. I didn't watch the video before but have done now I know she is safe, if I was her owners I'd certainly want to be having a few words with that b****rd !
 
I'm glad she has been found.

I find it semi-laughable that someone has commented on that video saying 'he really shouldn't have picked the dog up like that' as if that is the concerning thing in the video
 
Oh god, I didn’t want to watch it until I saw she was found so clicked on it. Only managed a second as it upset my dogs even.
What an absolute complete and utter bars****
How do you even get over something like that. Where is safe, I think I’d be terrified in my own home after that. :(

I would be very suspicious of that. Twiglet is a bitch of a very popular breed and was clearly targeted by someone in an area of the country where puppy theft and puppy farming by bad, (a minority), elements of the traveller community operate. I suspect she was stolen to order for a puppy farm but the social media coverage made her too risky to handle and resulted in her being offloaded in a pub car park to a stupid buyer.

I'm not sure what else they could do when they realised they were holding stolen property. I guess they could have dumped her but maybe they thought they would be paid back for the money they had paid out if they returned her. I'm sorry but I can't find a good interpretation of the behaviour of buying an unknown dog from someone that wasn't even advertised.

Something similar happened near me. The thief (or rather his mate) said he’d bought the dog but it turned out they’d stolen it. Either they had a pang of conscious or it was too famous for them to keep, but they did get found out quite quickly thanks to another mate who informed on them.
