Hi I wonder if anyone can help I posted a while back that I was having trouble with my back its 4 months now, I’ve recently found out that I have a twisted pelvis and am having treatment from the osteopath. Problem is it keeps twisting again, i rode last week just walked around for 5 minutes and now I’m back to square one, I am lucky enough to have a sharer which had now turned into full loan as I just can’t do yard duties or exercising. Feeling really depressed at the minute, has anyone else done this, if so could you tell me your story  thanks

I second the pilates exercise. I fell at school whilst skipping (I'm a teacher btw, not a child :D.....) and knocked my pelvis out. The 'cat stretches' I was given enabled my pelvis to 'clunk' back into alignment - much better after that.
Not perfect, but a lot better.

along with the pilates try a sport massage or any type of deep massage really. Your muscles will be trained to hold your pelvis now in the wrong way so its always good to et a good massage to help relax and stretch certain muscles

I have the exact same problem with a twisted pelvis and a curved spine, i have tried all sorts, massage, chiropractor, physio, stretching, acupuncture, etc etc and am now just on a concoction of drugs as the doctor wont do anymore, other than up my medication so if you do find anything that helps please let me know!!

I have one of these too! I also have one leg longer than the other so as soon as my pelvis is put right there is presure on it again because of the leg difference. I have physio every 6 to 8 weeks, do pilates class once a week and do my physio stretches every morning, it helps but I'm still always in a certain amount of pain! Every couple of months a treat myself to a deep tissue sports massage which helps for a few days. I seem to spend more trying to fix myself than the horses. Annoying but if I'm wonky ill make my ponies wonky. I was just told to try and strenghten core muscles as much as poss and the pilates has definately helped that

i sympathise - i suspected something was amiss with mine but was burying my head in the sand. I had a crashing fall last April where I landed right on my lowerback/bottom but I didnt think Id done any damage. All last summer I had a lot of lower back pain on the left and a really sore hip... quite low down and into my leg, tbh i thought i had something wrong with my hip or top of my thigh bone. It always seemed worse after I rode as well:o:( Then when I got pregnant in August that prompted me to mention it to my MW who said for goodness sake go and get sorted lol:o I went to see an Osteopath she recommended and he took one look and said my pelvis was totally out:o I had several sessions and actually, the hip/thigh pain went almost straight away! However Ive had to keep going every 6 weeks or so and now Im uber-pregnant Ive stopped until after the baby is born. Ive been going to pregnancy yoga though and I do think the stretches we do there have really really helped to keep it stable, as has my yoga ball which i sit on at home. So much so I intend to carry on with some sort of yoga or pilates after the birth. I also carried on riding until just a couple of weeks ago and never once had any pain or discomfort :) One knock though and it slips back out and I managed to whack my lower back off a wall last week and have been back with pain in the sacriollaic (sp) area again:rolleyes::o
