twisted willow tree

i have a twisted willow tree over hanging my field, iv'e just noticed that my ponies will eat it. so does anyone know if its posionous? do i need to cut it back?

its not poisonous. I think in herbal terms it is Salix which is a natural pain killer. Mine love willow and will eat it when ever they have the chance.

Willow is absolutely fine for a horse, infact, it's like a natural aspirin to them.

My neighbour's willows overhang our lane - my horses always stop for a munch on the way back from a hack (neighbour is very happy as it stops him having to trim them
