Sorry really bad with technology!

How does Twitter actually work? And how do you find the things that are actually of interest to you on there?

As far as I can make out, put in simplistic terms it's pointless, and is mainly used by 'celebrities' who find it useful to 'tweet' short sentences directly to their thousands upon thousands of 'followers' (many of their followers are journalists, looking for easy news/gossip I think, which is why the 'celebs' find this type of social media an important way of keeping themselves in the spotlight).

Personally I would rather be scrubbing out my horses water trough than be wasting time tweeting garbled sound bites, or be reading other peoples incomprehensible tweets. LOL
