My horse has now become very sensitive around her withers area. Doesn't like to be touched in this area and doesn't like having a saddle put on. Been doing this for the past week or so have avoided riding to see if she got any better, but hasn't. Can anyone have any advice on what to do and what it could be.
she's 11 and an irish sports horse had back done in September everything was fine then.
Saddle also just been fitted 1/2 months ago so shouldn't be a problem.
Also rugged with a neck during day and night. No hair loss/scabs/scuffs

I'd get her back end checked, it quite often transfers through to the front end if they are sore, mine has his back done at least every 6mths just to be sure from either a qualified chiro or body worker. Also do you trust your saddler? If you have changed the amount of work she is doing she could have changed shape quickly, or is the saddle sitting too far forward or moving? Just a thought?

This can be a sign of gastric ulcers. Google Dr DePalo - there is a very good video that he does (he is an American vet) that shows you the areas the horses becomes sensitive in when they have got ulcers.
