Well decided to take P and the 14.1 Irish Psychopath off to Keysoe for some XC schooling. P is entered in two PNs and a N this month, so thought I should really get him out

and the IP hasn't been doing anything so thought it'd be a nice trip out for him

Got there a bit late as our lorry [yet again] has been messing us around - arrived at a lesson last week in clouds of smoke as the brakes had seized

Anyway, got on P and he was determined that the fences had green goblins underneath that were going to eat him

Was a day of ups and downs really. Didn't get to finish over the last Novice line as it started to hail [to the point I have nicks on my knuckles]. I'd kept going through the rain but the hail was too much in the end. The skinny pimple cause a few problems as you will see - in the words of Baydale, no back teeth were removed in the making of this event horse.

Waited for it to clear to take the IP out. He was so pingy - I think TableDancers Pingy Pony has been teaching him tricks! I tightened my girth while he did half pass around the lorry park

They had UA showjumping on, so he perked up on the way over [he likes Keysoe] but then went all dope like when I made him keep walking past

Got into the warm up field, and he twigged. He exploded

We trotted a few circles, he then decided to disappear off across the field bucking and squealing!! I was laughing because I thought it was hysterically funny!

He hasn't been XC since August, and was SERIOUSLY keen. He did a fair few of the novice and pre-novice fences, and was just a total babe!! Took me into everything and didn't say no all day!

If you could get it into your head that they could jump these things from a standstill, life would be so much easier!!!
 
Two totally contrasting reactions to the warm up field! P walked through the gap in the hedge and, as L said, saw goblins everywhere! C on the other hand saw FUN and was literally squealing with excitement! I think he would have stayed all day playing if he could have done.
