My mare had a rather dramatic abscess a few weeks back, which drained nicely and she's now sound and back in light work.
Then my new weanling arrived a few days later, he didn't seem 'right' after two days but not dramatically so, just thought he'd twinged something on the looong journey up. Then a few days later he was worse so had the vet out and bingo - another foot abscess! So he's now being poulticed and tubbed - which with a not very handled weanling is great fun. (Actually he's being quite good about it, and is very cute!)
So, based on this would you be looking any further into why they were caused? Is it just coincidence, esepcially as Baxter's was probably brewing before he even got here?
And just to break it up, pictures of the new boy. He's called Baxter but he's already developed the nickname Soup!
