Wow Kitty Boggis's horse has got a lot of stamina- Imperial master did the OI at Henbury Hall in Cheshire on Sunday and then won the AI at Highclere on the Monday! Amazing for a horse to have that kind of energy and stamina- to pull of two good performances two days running and all the travelling as well!

A friend of mine who trains racehorses ran their horse one day and he didn't do anything (came in mid field), ran him the next day and none of us bet on him thinking he wouldn't go well having ran the previous day and he won. Trainer said some horses need to get their blood up to perform. But that seems a bit much for an eventer, I wonder what the logic was behind it.

I do indeed think it is a bit much I would personally do an intermediate every 2 weeks but each to their own., thats why I put this up because I thought it was very interesting!with my old horse I once made the mistake of doing 2 intermediates 6 days apart and he was terrible at the second one...genuinely jumped but he was knackered and very half hearted about it all, he needed his runs two weeks apart. But maybe Imperial master is a very hot fizzy horse and needs the run! But first time I've seen someone do an intermediate in two days.

mine get run once a month, therefore they don't run with problems. Can only think they did this because he needs work! Or was a qualification needed?

I have just had a look on the British Eventing website and it says they were both on the 27th!! even more amazing! Cant of been on the same day, mind you thats just as bad as competing the next day!! with no rest.

My horse is very fit and very lively, he would easily do that and still be keen, but the fact is I wouldnt want to do that to him!!!

From what I know he can be difficult, sometimes he doesn't want to play ball. I would have thought with the recent rain the ground was decent at both, and if he's 3-day fit it wouldn't really be a problem I don't think. Wouldn't do it myself though I don't think.
