Two jobs

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone here has two jobs, and how do u find it?

I love my job atm, but could really do with a bit more money and also get bored quite easily so want something different but would still like to work were i am. So i was thinking of maybe dropping to part time at current job and picking up another part time job.

So questions
Does anyone have to jobs? how do u find them?
Also why do u have two jobs?
And what days do you do at each job?
Lastly do you still have time for your own horse/family/self etc?

I work full time mon to fri 8.30 till 5pm in an office beacuse it pays the bills and is a guaranteed income. I then do 2 / 3 evenings a week, all day sat and occasionally a few hours on sunday teaching riding (in winter this is much less). I work for myself teaching and I want to build up a larger client base and offer more services eventually, then I will drop to 4days a week in office.

I do 2 jobs because wage rises are not existent and dont cover increased bills. Also I use any excees from teaching to pay for CPD which will help progress career, without feeling guilty for forking out loads of money for exams, courses etc.

I think main issue with 2 part time is tax codes as in one job you may have to pay more tax and then claim back any excess at the end of the year. I dont have this worry as self assess for my part time work. I would contact HMRC and ask what the implications are.

Also be aware in current climate jobs are hard to come by and you may not find much avaliable.

I have limited time for my own horses and do begrudge that, but the end goal of working for myself and so having more time for them. If 2nd job was working for someone else I may not be as keen. I have no social life as too tired to do anything.
