We have a 12 month old springer spaniel and a 6 month old border collie and both of them are unwell.
Both are very quite and sleepy and both have been sick 5 or 6 times. Both are off there food and aren't drinking a much. The spaniel just wants to sleep all the time. Both have very red gums.
We took them to the vet yesterday but they couldn't find anything wrong with them, no temperature and they took a urine sample and that came back fine.
We have 8 dogs in total, the other dogs are fine. Any ideas what could be wrong?
I've tried tempting them with some nice ham and chicken but they don't want it.

Yes both are up to date with worming, they play together a little bit. The collie is a working dog and sleeps in the kennels and the spaniel is my daughters best friend and lives in the house.

my dog was like this at start of jan...vets basically told me to ride it out if they were drinking, apparently a bit like with us there are loads of bugs going round at present which they cant treat. Keep both warm and ensure plenty of water maybe try and keep away from other dogs etc just in case it is a virus.
Hope they are better soon

There are random viruses going around, mine have had it some in my pack displayed symptoms and some never, it last no longer than 24 hours, generally off food (atleast 1 meals worth) vomiting, reverse sneezing, depression, lethargy. (not all but a mix of those symptoms) and I personally think its like a kennel cough mutation. So it could be this. My friends dogs and clients dogs have had it, loads of dogs been through work with varied symptoms like it.

Ps, they are younger and with less immunity so it could/will hit them harder, I would not worry and let it ride through unless 48 hours passed and they where still refusing food and vomiting. Also dont be tempted to feed, just offer water up little and often not so much that they gulp it down and then vomit, just little and often boiled and cooled and I starve for 12-24 hours. (I did anyway) lol

Thanks for your replies, the collie is alot brighter than the spaniel today, the spaniel started to get
Unwell 2 days after the collie. So hopefully it will pass now and just be a 48 hour bug.
I just feel so sorry for my little spaniel her big brown eyes look so sad :(
